Professor Dimitri Beeckman is a globally recognized expert in skin and wound care research. He is a professor of nursing science at Örebro University (Sweden) and Ghent University (Belgium), where he leads research and education in wound management, implementation science, and clinical trials.

As President of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA), he plays a key role in advancing wound care across Europe. He is also the scientific coordinator of the Swedish Centre for Skin and Wound Research (SCENTR) and the Skin Integrity Research Group (SKINT) at Ghent University.

With over 230 publications in high-impact journals, Professor Beeckman has significantly contributed to the field. He serves as an editor for leading wound care and nursing journals and holds visiting professorships at the University of Southern Denmark, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and Monash University (Australia).

A fellow of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the European Academy of Nursing Science (EANS), and the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), his work continues to shape the future of nursing and wound care worldwide.
